We were very delighted to receive the abbot of Samye Ling Monastery, Lama Yeshe Losar Rinpoche, for his first visit to Palpung Wales on 25th November 2016. Lama Rinpoche arrived in the late morning accompanied by Ani Lhamo, as well as Lorraine Harris and Anthony Harris from Samye Dzong Cardiff centre. A beautiful, auspicious sunshine after many long grey days, greeted the entourage along with Choje Lama Rabsang with his Palpung Wales staff and a handful of fortunate visitors.
Lama Rinpoche walked directly to the shrine, offered three prostrations to the Buddha and Mahamudra texts to the Centre. He was then given a tour around the premises, seeing the retreat rooms upstairs with newly made meditation boxes. We offered Lama Rinpoche and the entourage late morning tea, enjoyed casual chatting in a relaxed atmosphere hearing Rinpoche’s stories about his retreat menu, which sounded very healthy but extremely simple. Lama Rinpoche and Ani Lhamo had to rush back to the airport to catch a flight back to Scotland, so we waved them good bye and wished Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche will come again for a teaching visit to Palpung Wales.
