We are overjoyed to announce that the Very Venerable Yongey Mingyur Dorje Rinpoche has accepted our invitation to return to Palpung Changchub Dargyeling in April 2018.

A world-renowned Buddhist monk and an exceptional meditation master with an inspirational, joyful presence, this will be Rinpoche’s first visit to the UK in ten years, with Rinpoche having completed a four year meditation retreat as a wandering yogi in the caves of the Himalayas, since his last visit.

If you haven’t heard of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche before, you can find his biography, as well as a list of his books HERE

There are a few places where he is going to teach in UK, so everyone who wants to enjoy and benefit from his teachings and inspiring presence should have a chance to do so!

Sunday 22nd April: Public Talk: “Where is my Happiness?” (The local venue to be confirmed soon)
Mon 23rd – Wed 25th April: Meditation Retreat – Mahamudra Aspiration Prayer

More details about the retreat:

We have requested that Mingyur Rinpoche would give a transmission and teach on the basis of the Mahamudra Aspiration Prayer, as well as instruct us in meditation practices during the teachings.

” The essence and pith of the Lord Buddha’s teachings is Mahamudra, which is the jewel of contemplative practice and the profound instruction of the Kagyu lineage. The Third Karmapa’s influence and benefit to the Kagyu Lineage is incalculable and one of the many profound texts he composed is the Aspiration Prayer of Mahamudra, which arose from his own realisation. The prayer contains the entire path and view of Mahamudra, and its depth and beauty is unveiled in this line by line commentary.” From the book: The Aspiration Prayer of Mahamudra by Tai Situ Rinpoche

The proposed schedule of the retreat (some details might still change):

8.30am-9.15am Meditation session led by one of the Lamas
10am – 12pm Teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche
12pm-2pm Lunch
2pm-4pm Teachings by Mingyur Rinpoche
4.45pm-5.30pm Meditation session led by one of the Lamas

Accommodation during the retreat:

Due to the scale of the event, we are not able to accommodate people at the Centre this time. We are however currently making enquiries for the local B&B’s for cheaper rates for our event, and we will keep those who have registered their interest in these events, posted in this matter. We are also making a list of local hotels, as well as local sangha members who are willing to offer bed and breakfast for people with low income.

We will publish further details as soon as they are confirmed, but in the meantime, please register your details below if you are interested attending either or both events, and if you need accommodation.

Please note: This is not yet the official booking for the events, but we will keep you updated through the email on the further details!
